Department of Pharmacognosy

Pharmacognosy is a science of knowledge of crude drugs from plants and animals. Medicinal preparation derived from natural sources, especially from plants has been in widespread use since time immemorial. The department has been equipped with the instrument like Sohexlet and Clavengers apparatus for extraction and Chromatographic apparatus for purification and analysis of medicinal plants.
